Presenting Charlie Brear's Friday Bride #9 (01/01/16)

Happy New Year from Charlie Brear!

Today we're kicking off 2016 by featuring one of our fabulous brides, showcasing their wedding and, of course, their dress!

This week we spoke to Corrina; who married Tobi in July 2015 in the small village of Neusiedl in Southern Burgenland, Austria. The bride wore our Payton dress with our Voulaire overdress.

Describe the style of your wedding:
We had a relaxed bohemian hippie wedding.

What was your best experience when trying on dresses?
I felt very lucky that I found my dress so quickly. At Heyday you feel very comfortable with no other customers around and the style of dresses was just what I had been looking for.

How did we propose?
Tobi proposed at our New Year's Eve party last year. With only our closest friends around this was a very special start to the year. He gave me his grandmother's engagement ring, it has a beautiful vintage design and fit perfectly!

What is your advice to other brides shopping for a wedding dress?
Don't just rush into any bridal shop. Take your time to find out which style you prefer and choose a shop where you are treated how a bride should be!

How did you feel after you had ordered your dress?

Excited! I fell in love with the dress instantly. It was everything I'd hoped for and I couldn't wait to wear it!

What traditions did you follow?

We followed our very own tradition; we got married at my parent's house which was built in 1789. We had the ceremony underneath a tree my parent's had planted for me years ago. It felt very special to have our wedding there.

Who did your hair & make-up and how did you find them?

Adrian Tauschmann, a young and very talented hairstylist did my hair and I did my own makeup. Adrian just opened his own shop and was recommended by a friend.

Did your wedding have any quirky features?

The whole wedding was very DIY which made it more personal. It took weeks to produce the decoration but it really paid off.
Although the wedding took place in Austria we managed to have one of our favourite singers, Willie Stratton, to come all the way from Canada to play at our wedding. We tried to create a wonderful evening full of love for everyone and I think we accomplished that.

Who took your fabulous wedding pictures?

The talented and wonderful Fotomanufaktur Grunwald.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

Our friends made a Pinata and presented it to us later that night after a few drinks. It was hard for us to even land one hit (but the house caught a few!).

Do you find organising your wedding an easy process?

Organising a wedding at home usually means a lot more effort but I did not find it too difficult. It was quite tricky to find good suppliers for a decent price but if you have good time management it works out fine.

Starting six months before the wedding offers a good time frame. I am used to organising events for my job but if you feel overwhelmed by this task, don't hesitate to ask for help from friends and family.

What great piece of advice would you pass on to other brides (#weddinghacks)?

This is YOUR wedding, so include everything you two dream of and try not to focus on pleasing others. Investing time in DIY decoration really pays off as it gives your wedding a very personal touch and saves money.

How did you feel walking down the aisle?
It felt wonderful and unreal.Working for six months to finally experience this moment was mesmerising. Although I never thought that I would say this, but it really felt like a dream come true.

We really hope you enjoyed this week's Real Life Bride.
Have a great weekend!
