PRESENTING CHARLIE BREAR'S FRIDAY BRIDE #30 (10/06/2016)
It's time to heat up your summer weekend!
Bright, bold & Brazillian, this fabulous pair envisaged a fun family gathering to celebrate their love at their destination wedding. Thiane & Adrian were married at Lagoa Santa Rita, Brazil, last December; escaping the chill of a wintery London in a laid back ceremony that reflected them both so beautifully!
Dressed in a delicate shade of ivory, our elegant & unbelievably comfortable Torum dress looked stunning on Thiane. She accessorised her look with sentimental pieces such as a sash she borrowed from her Grandmother & a unique pair of earrings from Prague.
Interested in styling up your own wedding look, but not sure where to start? Why not come and meet the Charlie Brear team at our next Open Evening on Thursday, 16th June. The ladies are full of creative and fun suggestions for creating a bridal look that's as individual as you are. Once you've seen what the collection has to offer, we'll get you booked in for your own private appointment to make that all-important decision! Clickhere for further details.
See how Blessends Foto e Filme captured their lively day below.
How did Adrian propose?
During the sunset walking on the beach. He had a very discrete rose gold ring, which matches my taste and personality perfectly.
What was your best experience when trying on dresses?
I found my dress in the first place I went to try - at a Charlie Brear sample sale - it was very unexpected which made the process quite simple!
What would your advice be to other brides about shopping for a wedding dress?
Know what you don't want and keep an open mind to everything else. I'd also say don't try too many on once you find the one you like.
How did you feel after you had ordered your dress?
I felt like I made the right choice! My dress suited my personality; simple, elegant and so comfy!
Did you struggle finding the right lingerie for your dress & what would you recommend for other brides-to-be?
It was really hard to find a bra, so I ended up opting for self-adhesive disposable ones after trying a few other options. For the bottoms, the best option ended up being a very old pair that I had at home. My recommendation would be to keep trying them on with the dress until you find something you feel comfortable in.
What traditions did you follow?
I followed a Brazilian tradition where we write the name of our single friends on a ribbon and attach them to the wedding dress to give them luck in love.
How did you feel walking down the aisle?
Very happy to be sharing that moment with friends and family and to celebrate our love.
What was the funniest moment of the day?
At the end of the party we lost 3 guests. We thought they had left already and in fact they were still in the venue! We were surprised when made it back to the hotel that they were nowhere to be found! They couldn't find a cab because the venue was quite far from the city and it was late so they ended up getting a ride with the DJ back to the hotel.
If you could do it all again what would you do differently?
I don't regret anything, but I don't think I have the energy to plan a wedding across the ocean again!
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Maragogi, AL. It's in the northeast of Brazil. We stayed at Salinas do Maragogi All Inlcusive Resort and I recommend it for all the couples out there!
Take 5 with this week's #FRIDAYBRIDE
1. When it comes to trying dresses know what you don't like & keep an open mind.
2. Don't confuse yourself by trying too many dresses after finding one you like.
3. Keep trying lingerie on with the dress until you find something you feel comfortable in.
4. Try to make a list of what you want and at some point stop adding items to it. Blogs and Pinterest are great to give you inspiration.
5. Stay true to your style - once you make a decision trust yourself & stick to it.
What will you do with your dress now?
I had this idea of cutting it and transforming it into a knee length dress and with the remaining fabric dye it and make a skirt, but now I like it so much that I'm keeping it as it is for a while.
Did you find organising your wedding an easy process? It was very tricky not being present and having to do everything online from a distance. It took us a lot of Skype meetings with suppliers and help from our mothers to go and check things out. I am a very organized person, so it was easy to keep track of everything and make decisions.
What are you and your husband’s best memories of the day?
Having all of our family and friends together in the same place. We moved to the UK 4 years ago and ever since then we haven't had a big gathering with everyone. (Our family is very, VERY big) We even had some friends flying over to the wedding, which was amazing.
