Presenting Charlie Brear's Friday Bride #15 (12/02/2016)
When we think of the ideal summer wedding, three things come to mind; sun, sea and sand!
Kara's amazing Australian wedding had all three!
Kara married Mitchell on the 3rd of October on the lawn of Vaucluse House in Sydney, followed by a reception at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. She wore our Payton dress paired with our Voulaire overdress.

Describe the style of your wedding:
We had a beautiful, outdoor garden wedding. It was a traditional, classic style with neutral tones.
What was your best experience when trying on dresses?
As soon as I met Alex at Hope and Page I knew that I was going to walk out with the perfect dress. Alex immediately knew the styles that would suit me. When I tried on my Charlie Brear gown I knew that was the one.
I felt comfortable, glamorous and like the perfect bride to be. Who would have thought that the first dress I tried would be the one. I didn't need to look any further!
How did he propose?
My husband proposed in April on a beautiful, chilly morning walk along the Yarra River. He has picked the perfect ring, beyond anything I'd expected! He strategically placed the ring box down his pants in case I put my hand in his pocket to keep warm!
What would your advice to be other bride shopping for a wedding dress?
Choose a dress that reflects your style and that you feel completely comfortable in. Don't become overwhelmed trying on a huge amount of dresses.
How did you feel after you had ordered your dress?
I was so excited and felt completely confident in my decision. I couldn't wait to try everything on together. I was relieved that what is made to feel like such a huge decision had been made so easily and stress free.
What shoes did you wear?
I went for comfort and wore nude leather heels by Siren.
Did you struggle to find the right lingerie?
I couldn't wear a bra so I didn't have to worry about that. I had foam cups sewn into my dress which made me feel so comfortable. My sister actually picked up some seam free nude underwear from Bras n Things for me.
How did your hair and makeup?
Carly Wood (Mobile Wedding Hair Sydney) was our hairstylist and she couldn't be more highly recommended, she is the hair master! Lisa from Absolutely Flawless Make Up and Artistry did an amazing job with make up. She created the perfect look and it lasted the whole night!
What was the funniest moment of the day?
My brother's reading at our ceremony was hilarious and instantly made the mood feel more relaxed. He added his own musical touch to a traditional reading and had everyone laughing.
How did you feel walking down the aisle?
I took a big breath before walking down the aisle with my dad and as soon as I saw my husband all of my nerve disappeared. I was just so happy and could not stop smiling. Everything was perfect!
If you could do it all again what would you do differently?
The only thing I would do differently is to eat more of our amazing food at the reception! I was so overwhelmed that I actually forgot to eat a main meal.
What great piece of advice would you pass on to other brides who are planning their wedding? (#Wedding Hacks)
Don't get too carried away with it all. Don't blow your budget on things that people won't even notice or remember. Feed your guests well, everyone is still talking about how amazing our 'grand feast' was. Have your ceremony and reception venues close to each other so that your guests don't have to move around too much. Have good music that will have your guests dancing into the night!
Did you find organising your wedding an easy process?
I thoroughly enjoyed planning our wedding, everything just seemed to fall into place! My family were an amazing support throughout the whole process. All of the contact people were great at communicating and made everything run smoothly. The biggest stress was probably that my husband didn't finalise his suit until the week before!
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We stayed at The Beach Club on Hamilton Island. My husband ever managed to organise a sneaky surprise helicopter ride over to Whitehaven Beach!
What will you do with your dress now?
My dress has been cleaned and stored in my wardrobe. I wish I could wear it again! I will certainly hold onto it, I am looking forward to wearing my beautiful Charlie Brear beaded top again over a dress or singlet!
