Presenting Charlie Brear's Friday Bride #12 (22/01/16)
Why have one bride when you can have two?
This week we're celebrating the wedding of Melanie and Sarah, who were married at the Glen Tanar Ballroom in Scotland followed by a blessing at St Lesmo's Chapel.
It's a pleasure to style every bride that comes to our showroom. So imagine how excited we were when two brides, each searching for different looks, wanted to wear Charlie Brear on their wedding day.
Melanie chose our Payton dress styled with our Augustine jacket for an elegant outfit. Sarah wore our Vienne dress with a fur shawl to create a glamorous 1920s look.
We spoke to Sarah about their wedding, proposing on safari and how she felt walking down the aisle.

Describe the style of your wedding:
It was a traditional wedding on Scottish hunting estate.
How did you propose?
I proposed to Mel during a horse back safari in South Africa. I had already bought a yellow diamond for her and we went together to choose the ring setting on our return. I chose a ruby from the same jewellers.
What would your advice be to other brides about shopping for a wedding dress?
Go to Charlie Brear first! Mel tried on dresses in some other boutiques beforehand, but we were made to feel so relaxed and welcome at Charlie Brear and finding the right dress was a pleasure - as it should be.
How did you feel after you had ordered your dresses?
Absolutely delighted that we had found beautiful flattering dresses that were so comfortable!
What shoes did you wear?
We both wore Emmy shoes as recommended by Charlie Brear.
Did you struggle finding the right lingerie that worked with your dresses?
Not really, we went to the Selfridges lingerie department who were really helpful.
What traditions did you follow?
We slept in different places the night before and we didn't see each others' dresses until the wedding.
What was the funniest moment of the day?
We left the ballroom before the Registrar had finished her part by wishing us all the best!
Did your wedding have any unusual features?
Two brides! Otherwise we had a very traditional ceremony.
How did you feel walking down the aisle?
Nervous, excited and proud.
What great piece of advice would you pass on to other brides (#weddinghacks)?
It's much more complicated than you think - start early! Enjoy the planning process - we did and have lots of good memories of tasting food and wine etc.
If you could do it all again what would you do differently?
Nothing! It was fantastic!
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Parrot Quay in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
What are your best memories of the day?
Seeing each other initially, saying our vows, the food and wine, watching everyone having fun at the tables for the dinner, having all our favourite people look fabulous in one place for one day - it was the best day of our lives!
We really hope you enjoyed this week's Real Life Bride.
Have a great weekend!
